SINGAPORE: Slightly hazy conditions continued to affect Singapore on Saturday (Aug 22) and are expected to persist until tomorrow, said the National Environment Agency (NEA).
The agency added that at 7pm, the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index was recorded at 75-86 - within the Moderate range - and that it will maintain so for the next 24 hours.
NEA said "everyone can continue with normal activities", given the air quality forecast.
Later, it issued an update stating that a total of 132 hotspots were detected in Sumatra that day, mainly in the southern half of the island. Moderate haze was visible from some hotspots in Jambi and South Sumatra, it added.
