JOHOR BARU: The National Security Council (NSC) urged Johor residents to prepare for potential flooding in the state from Dec 28 to 30, following the recent adverse weather conditions.
Based on the Malaysian Meteorological Department's early warning, the heavy downpour may last up to three days due to the current monsoon season.
Johor NSC assistant chief secretary Azura Muhammed Kifli advised those in Johor to prepare in advance for the potential adverse weather conditions.
"We (NSC) hope that the public stay alert to any changes in the weather and are constantly updated on emergency warnings through the news or other broadcasts.
"The public are also advised to be prepared to evacuate to temporary flood shelters by the authorities for their own safety," she said.
Azura said the public can check on the possible weather conditions through their website and social media feeds.
